My brother had been negtotiating with the salesman on a new 48 for about thirty minutes before he showed him the "bike builder." The MSRP on the bike builder was less than he quoted as his "rock bottom price." When my brother pointed that out to him, he called the sales manager over who stated, "I can't even get them for that price."

Same stealership, different sales guy. I was in the process of buying an '09 Iron and had been given a copy of the workup for the final price. When I noticed that there was $1700 charge for labor to add accessories, I told the guy to just throw all the **** in a box, and I would install it myself. First he told me that the warranty wouldn't cover my bars, bags, or pegs if I installed them myself. I told him that I was alright with that, as I didn't expect any of that stuff to fail within two years. He finally agreed and took the paper back to re-work the price. He was glad to show me how I had saved myself $300 by doing the labor myself. What the fvck????????? Was $1700, now $300. Harley dealers are the worst part about owning Harleys.

And you don't??? I am buying my next scoot in Bumfuk, Texas, because that is where all the knowledgeable and honest dealers are located.

Well, actually - the correct usage would have been "me" rather than "myself" or "my self". A common grammatical error that only the truly ****-retentive English language aficionados among us would notice.

In other words - jerks like me.

Yupe, I agree, there are some really shady dealers out there. My dealer rocks!!! They're giving me a 25% discount for taking the winter air out of my tires and putting in summer air... but it's only good until the end of the month so I better call tomorrow and make an appointment....

I took my bike in for an inspection last weekend (70 degrees out) I said "geez..looks busy today" the service guy says "Well, that's what happens when you take care of your customers" 3 hours later they had my bike done..LMAO.
BTW..they failed it and wanted 100-200 to fix my front brake lever light switch. I asked how long...they said they could get right on it..WTF? I said have a nice day

Picked up my bike from winter storage yesterday at the dealer. 68 degrees and sunny in northern Ohio. To say the least the they were busy...

Anyway I check out the bike, it looks good and freshly washed. So I ask the service writer "what do I owe you?" He says, don't worry about it today, go ride, we will square up next time you come in..."

What a crazy thing to say!

Not all dealers suck...
