Helmet, would you or would you not?

+1 Navy myself, and like I saw in an earlier post involving insurance. If involved in an accident, and they find out you didn't have your riding gear. Then you pay for the medical bills.

I was born & raised in MD & after 30+ years in EMS I wouldn't set foot out of the house without a helmet. Last year on Feb 10th The wife & I were involved in a head on collision. If it wern't for seat belts, the wife & I would not be here today.

I am an IT person by trade. I make my living from using my head...so I wear a helmet to not only protect my livelihood but also because it's common sense.
I also don't presume to impose on others freedoms, so I prefer it to be a choice made by the biker.

I've noticed that helmet threads are always started by guys who WEAR helmets, and PROMOTE their use.
I've never seen a helmet thread started by a guy who DOESN'T wear one, or a guy trying to convince anyone else NOT to wear one.
Just sayin...

The secret is: there are not states where you have to wear a helmet vs. states where you have to ride without. There are only states where the nanny-state government makes you wear it and free states that let you choose. If you are in a free state, make your own choice - what anybody else would choose doesn't matter; that's why it's freedom.
I'm riding to southern Mississippi Wednesday and, sadly, it turns out Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi are all nanny-states - oh well, I needed fullface for rain anyhow.
