Default Keep gas tank from rusting in storage

Hello brand new to this site and my first post I have an extra fatboy gas tank that I keep in my family room and I was wondering what is the best way to protect the tank for future use so I don't get rust in it? Any tricks or info is appreciated.
Thanks Garry

Factory tanks have a good liner seal in them to prevent rust. If you don't trust that do the job, just spray a little WD-40 in it.

LPS 3 is a spray can type protectant. It sprays on wet but as the propellent evaporates it leaves a thick almost wax like film of lubricant. The can even states its for long term storage to prevent rust formation............................BG

Remove the fill cap. Circulating air will prevent the accumulation of moisture.

If your really worried about it rusting, pour a quart of kerosene mixed with 1/2 qt oil in the tank and slosh it around and drain out.The oil will coat all the inside surfaces untill you fill it with gasoline.

Ok, I'll bite. Why do you keep a gas tank that you might use again in your living room?
