What have you guys found to be the best way to convert your turn signals to LED's?

Badlands Illuminator module. You get solid state, no heat issues and can even get Run/Stop/Turn for your rear turns if you get the right module all in one package, save space.

No better way to go.

I agree about the Badlands product. I use their modulator, and the unit that gives running light and stop light functionality to the rear turn signals, and they work well. They are also extremely easy to install, just plug and play.
