Know that HOG has limitations for tows, distances and amount per year. If you ride just around your area it might be all you need. There is a Deluxe and Ultra Deluxe package as an upgrade thru HOG with Road America....this gives you coverage for your other vehicles, tow to closest dealer no matter how far and other perks. ie. hotel reembursement, rental car when broke down.
It's nice to have options so look into and know what each package will give you....everyone has different needs.
Insurance companies, AAA and other organizations offer roadside assistance.....so look around.
I have Ultra Deluxe Package with Road America thru HOG because it covers both my bikes, cars and we do month long trips every year....it gives me peace of mind......

I have been a member for 6 years...joined as a life member for $400 this year because I save $50 a year for roadside assistance for 3 cars and my bike. Plus I use the parts discount which is about $10-20 a year. Then I use the Best Western discount which is $12-25 per night. I should end up breaking even on the $400 in about 3.5 years. Then it's all gravy.

I am a HOG member and also my wife. The rallies are so so but I think if you take advantage of the perks it is worth it.
How in the hell do you get the AT&T discount? I went to my online account and didn't find anything...

Saved 500 year on my insurance on 3 bikes when I switched from Progressive. Only difference in coverage was the "free" roadside assistance w/ Progressive. HOG roadside for two bikes, unlimited was an added 19.99 Nuthin is "free" with any insurance.

As to the OP's question on whether it's worth it or not to become a H.O.G. member in my opinion yes it is.
