The goal is to be fast among other Harleys, not cars.

It would have been stupid if you hadn't noticed the cop behind you or if the Merc was an unmarked patrol car. Nice long straight stretch, no traffic and slowing down and stopping without crashing is just one of the fun things a bike affords you.

Freeway would be bad enough but on a surface street? I'm glad you're still here to tell us.

I do that all the time when I'm on the Sporty. Occasionally when I'm on the interstate on the Road king as well. They HAVE to get around you. Sometimes I make them work for it to see how bad they want it.

I'll agree a little stupid, but who among us can say they never did anything stupid, or have never had that moment when the road was open and your bike wanted to run with the wind. Glad all is ok, just don't make it a daily habit.
