Going to Afghanistan, Need a Harley!

It depends upon where you are stationed. Are you in CONUS or OCONUS? Without knowing that I don't think you will get a straight answer. Even if you're in CONUS, it depends upon the state so there is no easy answer. Keep your *** low and your powder dry! That's what my old man told me when I headed for the first Gulf War.

Don't quote me on this one but if the bike is $15K and you pay $14,500 on it over there. (example only) You would be paying tax on the remaining balance of $500. I just dropped the $300 required when I was overseas as I was paying other things off. I payed on the remainder.......look into it while you are over there.

I did this. 15 months in the suck and then paid cash for my Superglide. Good deals with AAFES. they usually have great deals on last years models if you are willing to take delivery quick. Shouldn't be a problem if you are paying cash and are stationed stateside. You will have to pay taxes on the bike wherever you decide to register it stateside. Florida was 6%. Your state may vary. Still a good deal though.
I say go for it.
I say go for it.

Yeah, when good 'ol mccrystal took out the good times on the bigger bases, he also took out the new car sales. But like I said, you'll be able to get it through the manas team, and yes the one on KAF is gone, says "Team Manas Now Serving Afghanistan"......

Of the guys that have done this and posted about it, seems like all were pretty pleased with the sysrm and treatment they received from the dealer that it was picked up from.
