How many helmets does one man/woman need?

Its hard to find a helmet that fits just right. I have 3 helmets..I have a Bell FF that I have grown to hate! I picked up a Norlan FF (I picked it up to replace the Bell, its very warm) that I can stand (wife likes me to wear it on long trips) and a Fulmer half that I wear 99% of the time. I also have a spare half for passengers when Im pimping. The wife has about the same, her Bell FF is too heavy and hurts her neck (military injury) so she mostly wears her V-Can FF. I think its more finding the right helmet then buying helmets to collect them or change them like you change your shirt to match your outfit!

Well I've got three. A full faced modular when the temps are cold. A 3/4 for the spring and fall and was forced (well, you know) to give myself a Harley 1/2 helmet for the middle of summer.
But that's just me.

I got a buddy I ride with and he has 4 half shell helmets that may of been worn maybe 6x's at best. He just went out and got a full face and has worn it maybe 3x's. He mostly rides with his skid lid.
I have 2 skid lids, a full face, one is a 3/4 with a plastic shield, and 3 half helmets. 2 of them belong to my wife.

If I find one that fits my head I buy it, my head size is anywhere from 7 1/2 to 7 3/4 depending on shape(of the helmet, my head shape is super long oval, alien shaped). I have 6 at present time. I have had up to 12 at any one time back in the day, custom painted team colors etc., but usually once I crashed hard on them they never got worn again, not cause I thought they were damaged but because I thought they were bad luck.

Sounds Familiar
- 3/4 helmet (w/intercom setup) for riding with the wife and "cooler" temps
- will be buying a full face this year end for the "really" cold temps (will try to extend the riding season)

I've got 7 or 8, I dunno. I don't keep count. I use different lids for different moods or rides. Weather changes, helmet changes. My question to you is....what the heck is it to you? Worry about what YOU have or don't have.
