Default Dunlop elite 3 ???

Looking at new tires. Been all over the dunlop website. Does anybody know what the difference is between MU9016 and MT9016. Most retailers just list MT9016 as the correct size for my Ultra.
Thanks

You can find all your answers here:

http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/tire...tire.asp?id=86

The main difference in the two is the load rating, but also check the difference in width.

Elite 3 Touring Rear
MT90B16 74H BW 4079-91 3.00 25.70 5.15 10/32 830 @ 40
MU90B16 78H BW 4079-95 3.00 25.72 5.57 11/32 930 @ 40

per the Dunlop web page...
The BIGGEST difference (for me) is the LOAD RATING MT 830 pounds, VS 930 on the MU

the OEM D-402 is rated at 827 pounds, so either works well...
D402 Rear
MT90B16 74H BW 3017-91 3.00 25.70 5.20 9/32 827 @ 40
MT90B16 74H SW 3018-91 3.00 25.70 5.20 9/32 827 @ 40

I like the MU
Size wise...
standing straight up, the Elite-3 is 0.02 inches taller 25.70 OEM, vs 25.72 E-3 MU
Width
OEM 402=5.2 against 5.57 or?? 0.37 inches wider.

On my 2005 FLTR the MU fits fine... SOME riders report they had to shave the belt guard
for those who want to know the MM on the two tires
5.57 inches =141.478 MU would be 141/90/16
5.2 inches = 132.07999999999998 MT would be 132/90/16

Smitty, you don't day what year Ultra you have, but the wider MU fits fine on my '06 with no clearance issues. I see looking at the chart that you get a little deeper tread depth as well.

It looks like I willl go with MT for the front and MU for the rear, I have an 03 Ultra, and these look like the best fit.

Just put the E3 MU90 on my '01 E-glide Classic last weekend. I had to use a pulley spacer to clear the drive belt.
