Enjoy 29 brother. Just PCS'd from there Tuesday. One thing for a rider to be mindful of out there is the winds along the 10 and 62 (Banning to Morongo Valley), it's a killer 8 times out of 10. Also, the 62 has been under repairs over the last year so the pavement is getting MUCH better and no longer rides like an IED-laden strip.

 

The gate guards at Mayport Naval Station got to be real bad about randomly applying their personal interpretation of the rules a couple years back. the motorcycle shop just outside the base had some Teniers made that were bright "safety green" colored and on the front is printed the entire section from the OPNAVINST 5100 about PPE and on the back it says "This Garment Is Brighter Than The Person Making Me Wear It."

sometimes i get the feeling that the people that write these orders don't even ride or consult riders. i can't complain though, i'm just glad the M.C. dropped the reflective vest requirements.
