For Those of You With 2 Bikes, Does One Sit?
#12
I like having at least two bikes. You don't have to worry about having one torn apart then a beautiful riding day springs up. I have two friends who bought Dyna wideglides, Then added a touring model (Screamin' Eagle Roadglide for one and the other guy bought an Electraglide). It would really surprize me to see one of them show up for a ride on their Dyna's. Once they both got used to the nice ride, storage space, windshield...etc. That was it. As far as the guy who bought the Roadglide, I doubt his Dyna had more than 500 miles put on it in the last 5 years.

I've got a Dyna and a RKC. I have to admit that the Dyna does a lot of sitting around, but I'm not about to get rid of it just yet. I've had it since it was new in 1994 and I still take it out occasionally. I've owned 2 bikes for about 25 or 30 years or so and I always managed to find time to ride both. The latest twosome is probably the most one sided as far as equal riding time goes. It's also the most diverse as far as the types of bikes. Before I had a FX and a BSA. I had a Sportster and a Triumph. When I had those combos, my riding time was much more equally divided. These days, I like the RKC enough that the Dyna sits a lot.

Had a Deuce and decided to go touring bike and bought my first Ultra back in 2009. Sales guy wanted my Deuce and asked if I was trading it in. Told him I was going to keep it. He say, "I dont know why, you'll never ride it". and you know, he was almost right. The few times I do take it for a ride, Im thinking, "IM just riding this to prove him wrong" LOL. Doesnt cost me much for the insurance and tags, so like keepin I guess

I have 3.
The Ultra is for long trips 2 up with the wife
The Road Glide is for long trips just me (solo or the wife on hers)
The Dyna for playing around town and short trips.
They all get ridden

The Hayabusa has had maybe 100 miles put on it since I got the FXST on August 20th. I've put almost 3,000 on the Harley...

My 2nd. bike is made out of plastic, and I mainly ride it on rainy days, in the mud.
A dual sport 650cc KLR Kawasuckie. Actually, it's a really fun bike to ride.
