You need to reshaft it. A UST-V2 chromed graphite shaft in stiff flex with a Big Sucker air cleaner & a PCV will solve the slice and add more distance. A flamed HD grip would be a nice touch!

my 883 was my fav harley out of the 4 I have owned, and there will be another Sportster in my garage soon.
I've never said the vic was the best bike ever made. hell, check this thread here and read where i rip on'em for their incredibly screwed up rear brake pedal setup and the ugly aftermarket Vic offers.
I was raised around 70's bikers (both my father and uncle rode), and the one thing they taught me was the brotherhood was about the man, not the machine. I would figure someone of your age would remember those days, but I guess not.
So I'll continue doing what i was taught by those boys back in the 70's, whether it's still popular or not.

 

Or maybe he can try that stack and tilt thing. I did and I am getting about 10 more yards, course the slice is still about 30yards but hell I am getting it 10 yards deeper in the woods.

 

Smart of them to say they weren't going after the HD market.
Can't say you failed number wise if you claimed different.
Long standing history helped create the brandname recognition that many wish they had.
Whether you wear something with their logo or not, many wear it without even owning one.
As to if you think its tastefully done or not is up to the individual as always.
The relative small number of owners who feel the branded stuff has cooties, doesn't hurt their bottom line.

I saw in the latest J&P Cycles catalog a head cover that looks like a Harley gas tank (not kidding). Is that some cool **** or what?!!!!

 

I have friends that ride brits and metrics as well as harleys. All sizes and shapes, we rag on each other about how clean our bikes are or not, cheesy beards or mustaches or bitch about work or no work, but never do we attempt to run down the others bike or try to prove that ours is the better one. You love your victory, that's fine but don't run down other bikes not like victory trys to do in their marketing campaign only causes hard felling like a derogatory political campaign does.

 

It's not victory's campaign, it's one dealerships campaign....and i totally agree with your point. Like someone else said previously in one of the Vic threads, it's a good product, but the brass up top don't have a frikkin clue on how to go forward with it. if vic does fail, they have no one but themselves to blame
