Harley davidson jackets

I dont think it has to be abut the Harley Logo as much as folks that logos in general. By the way some do and some dont.
In my case I dont. I did not want a Vanson with arm patches saying Vanson. I dont want my Fox Creek to have FC patches all over it either. So for me its not the Hd thing as much as that I am not a logo person. At the same time some folks like that. Guess what...thats perfectly cool too.
The one rule I have learned is that branded merchandise sells for additional markup so if you like a more plain look you may find more bang for your buck in that actual merchandise.

I have a MOCO leather jacket and leather vest. The jacket is black with Harley-Davidson pressed into the back. The vest just has a small Harley-Davidson patch on the front. Neither is over stated. Just pretty basic.

Still have my first HD jacket I bought used in '70. It's worn, frayed and tattered but could just not part with it. I am now wearing an HD-AMF jacket I picked up in the L79/E80 that was also used. Think they referred to them as the "Cycle Champ". Only thing missing is the belt (which I wouldn't use anyway).
In between those two I had had the "Drifter" jacket and a few years back had purchased the "Shovelhead" jacket. Sold the "Drifter" because it was a present from my "ex"; sold the other because I never cared for the way it fit when riding.
I do like the "Panhead" jacket but can't see paying what people are asking for them.
I tend, like some others, to go for the minimalist design on my jacket since I wear a vest over my jacket at all times. The only logo on the early jackets are the collar tags; on the others just a small logo/insignia. The new HD jackets are just too flashy for my tastes. But I actually believe that if HD brought back the Cycle Champ jackets (just like the 60/70 one with nothing on the back or front), HD riders would actually buy them.
HD seems to sell quite a few jackets so I guess the market strategy is working. And when it comes down to it, people can and should wear what they want; if it suits them and is to their taste, hell just go for it.

the only stuff from the dealers i wear is one of their t-shirts with the shop logo on. none of this "live to ride *****". most of its made in taiwan for $2, and sold to the stupid for $100.

logo's aside the HD jackets are just waaaay overpriced. the leather is cheap on their boutique jackets and they still want $400+ dollars for those. the FXRG stuff is upwards of $700 msrp, no way i'm paying that for a chinese or pakistan made jacket, i could have a vanson, aero, or damn near a langlitz if i stretch just a bit more.

Only a select few. These are the ones MoCo announces from the parapets as being a U.S. product. The vast bulk of their jackets are imported from China. Some of them are very well-made, but they do originate in overseas.
