Default Ever hit a deer while on your bike?

So this weekend I went out on a ride, I wasn't on my road king though I was out doing some dirt road riding on a DR650 in the mountains north of reno, I found a sweet windy road and I decided to see what my bike could do.

As I got up to about 70 MPH I saw from the corner of my eye out of the shadows a doe starting to run across the road, I though about breaking but There was no way I was going to miss her. Then i recognized a second shape, another deer this one a buck, he was chasing her.

She ran in front of me and I swear I hit her tail with the front fender of the bike, But the buck following her, jumped over the rear of my seat and I swear I could feet the wind rush by me, I nearly shat my pants..... I finished breaking and my heart was throbbing and my knees were weak, I almost didnt have the strength to put down the kickstand. I just sat by the road for a few minutes and regained my composure.

I didnt speed the rest of the day.

Any one else have a near miss or worse... a hit?

Yep. Hit the rear leg of a doe with the engine guard on my SG. No time to brake, just lean and hope. Heard that sickening thump of steel on bone. Was before daylight and the bike seemed to be riding ok so I went on. Later inspection revealed no damage, just a spot wiped clean on the engine guard.

If it was that close then this was probably an appropriate response.

Never on my bike, but once driving a small convertible... deer jumped over the hood as I slammed on the brakes. Rear hoof hit fender on way down leaving a small dent and scratched paint. I, too, had to change my shorts and sit by the side of the road to stop shaking.

Was behind a buddy in the NC mountains and saw him hit one, I nearly shat my pants too! Luckily neither him or his girlfriend were too bad off, he did end up having rotator cuff surgery though.

I had 2 of them that were laying in the ditch (tall weeds) jump out in front of me. I swerved and got on the brakes hard to miss them. Then third one stood up and took one jump onto the front of my bike.
I was doing 40-45 MPH when the first two jumped up, probably down to 25 or 30 at impact.
