sorry but you've got other problems. the fob battery would have no effect on how your bike is running.

My security system is different. No fob. But it has 6 sensors that are dispatched in the direction of the bike at 1600 feet per second. If any of the sensors contacts the illegal rider, the rider usually stops riding immediately.

Lets say a guy jumps on my bike while I'm close enough for the fob to be in range. Do I let him take the bike & hope the cops get it back or do I put 3 rounds through him & have him crash my bike.

Decisions decisions. I'm not sure what I would do.

Put 5 rounds through him and then if the bike is 100% trashed you still have one round to shoot yourself with....

There is a code you can program through the turnsignals in case you forget your fob or if the battery dies.

and how many REALLY knows the "code" or even has a owners manual....

Have U seen how many in here bought their bike used........

I bought new and yes the code is in my manual,,, but its in the closet and wont help away from home either.

could just put the extra fob in the bags,,,, then someone steals Ur ride as it just happened to another member in here that did that....

Reset your code to a five digit number that means something to you so you will remember it at anytime. The 1600 foot per second system sounds really interesting though. But if I have one left and the bike is really messed up, I'm shooting the damn bike for letting somebody take it.

Keep an extra fob with the battery removed hidden in your bags somewhere. It won't let someone start the bike and if your fob dies or is lost you have a spare. But the code is always a good idea as well. If you have your owners manual, there is a card to pull out of it and keep in your wallet with the code and instructions. If you don't have one, make up a card yourself so it's always on you.

it really is easy to do. if you get stranded because of it, then it's really your own fault..... and if you bought your bike used, it is easy to retrieve, and then change your code to something meaningful to you. really, its a lot easier than carrying spare batteries and fobs around.
