Default I bought a Bell 500 yesterday....

I went to the International Motorcycle Show yesterday in Chicago and it was nice to be able to try on helmets and see which ones I liked. I wanted a 3/4, so I tried on helmets by Arai, Shoei, Nolan, shark...and a couple of others, and I ended up buying a Bell 500 in classic black.

I have to say, I know all DOT helmets are gonna give the Stewie Vader look, but the Bell was the best in not making me head look like the mushroom tip of a dong! BUT...I still think its pretty big. I guess I shouldn't complain...it was only $90 and now I have protection of my noggin! I just don't understand how technology can't thin these things out a little more. Or maybe I need a fatter head...

Im not a fan of brain buckets!

I've rode with 2 different kinds and they both lifted at 55mph unless I choked myself with the chin strap!

I have been wearing the Bell 500 "stunt" for 7 months and it seems to be holding up well. Since I ride nearly daily, it is getting a lot of use. No complaints yet.

I was wearing a half helmet before the Bell, but picked up an intercom for talking to the passenger and figured the 3/4 would work better for that. I now find myself removing the intercom and using the 3/4 even when I am riding solo.

Nebraska set to reconsider current law mandating helmets. Fingers crossed.

I have the Bell 500 Speed Soul I love it. I wear a pair of motorcross goggles with it.

I actually enjoy having my helmet so laws do not effect me ... But it would suck if there was a law that forced me to choose. when, in the end, the choice only effects the out come for me.
