Thought about it some more and think Muenster ,Tx. might be what you're lookin' for.
150 miles from OK City, excellent riding area, twenty minutes from all kinds of stores,movies...etc., located in Gainesville.
And only an hour and a half north of Dallas or Ft Worth.
Many people in the DFW area make Muenster a day ride on the weekend.
It's a really nice area.
Can't help ya' on the heat thing, though. Texas gets hot.
