I wear a vest with extention, my gut has grown, I love beer. SUE ME. had it since I was 21, My cuz thinks it looks like a rag cuase it is old, he rides a bobber, I ride an Ultra.

In any case, it has the HOG patch on the back with a small Harley No.1 above it, used to have a GOLD WING patch. Yes, I know boys GOLD WING!!! What the ???????, but that was what I was riding at the time ( I have been converted) it did not look that bad. (ok... in retrospect maybe not???) Some patriotic patches, troop support and such and US, Mass. state and POW flag patch on the right front in that order. No loud pipes slogan or helmet slogan, just that.

I hear yeh about the thickness!!!! I was up in Down east Maine last summer I have friends up there and it is an awesome place to ride. Good place to tie one on as well. In Mass most bars wont even serve you a shot anymore and of they do it has to be over ice. Now when your drinking the champagne of beers (High Life) with Jimmy backs the last thing you want is ice, Anyways, tHose fishing boys can get a little tough when drinkning. The guy behind me, or beside me, my back was to him, started something with somebody and I ended up getting a knife slashed downward from about an inch above the back of my neck down the back of my vest. The blade started out on my skin then hit the leather and rode up on to it thank god. Now it did cut the leather a bit but not all the way through. Before I could do anything four guys that I did not know took him out and tolled him over. I was bleeding and being tended to by a very cute little green eyed wiatress, So did not bother to go outside and do anything I was soaking up the pity party. In any case. I have KERR leather vest. it is Buffulo hide and weighs alot. Thickness I am not sure, but it is thick.

Point of the story, sorry for all the bla bla yada yada, but Becuase I hear so much chit about my ugly old vest, especially where some color is true and other parts are faded I bought a harley vest this past holiday. When I got it. I was not impreseed. Cheap piece of crap, I am not even sure it was real leather, looked and felt like plastic. I know there are different kinds. This one was 120.00 bucks. Should have been 12.00. I paid 125.00 for my KERR VEST 20 years ago, if I was wearing that HD vest, I would have been sliced form neck to mid shoulder blade. The kERR is the ****.
I took it to a leather guy near my house in december, he got the thing to look brand new for 15.00. Filled in the slice mark with some kind of putty, and did some kind of stich job on it it, you can see it but it looks natural from a distance and close up you can tell something happened, I have a few scares on my face, from a dog bite as a child that look the same way. Looks Like I'll have it another 19 years!!!!

I've been lucky the vest has caught all the hell so far including a dull buck knife somebody tried to slip my kidney . The owner of that one paid dearly he'll never walk without 2 canes again . I learned from real old school hard cases early in life about heavy leather .

I love the leather threads. Without fail, 4-5 posts in the gun owners just HAVE to show that they're packin heat. It really is amusing. I'm not anti-gun. I have plenty. And am an NRA member. I just don't get the whole post-a pic of my sidearm thing. Or why you would let the world know. Then again, I don't own a "cut" lmao!

Agreed I think the term "Cut" usually refers to a leather vest or denim with the MC insignia.

The Leather vest i wear is "Lil Joes" I absololutely love it and yes it was worth the money.

My vest has a PGR patch on the back. A Vietnam Vet patch, a POW-MIA patch, a small US flag and a Never Forget patch and some mission accomplished pins. The mission pins are mostly from escorting American HEROES who were killed in the line of duty. You guessed it, I am a Patriot Guard Rider. Being a disabled Vietnam veteran these patches and pins have a deep meaning to me. Never felt the need to have a Harley patch while riding one. I thank all veterans past and present and pray that someday there will be no more war or need for the Patriot Guard.

Here's what mine looked like before I decided to put patches on it. Now, I don't like it as much. I had one patch from Sturgis 2010 and that was it, now I have have HOG, a giant HD patch on the back, and a few little ones. Ah screw it, here's current pics.

I am going to get another one, same style, and only put the charity run, and rally patches on it.

Oh, and I got rid of the vest extenders. I just cut the "cut" (lol) up the sides, added some grommets, and some leather lacing. Doesn't pop the buttons on the front now, I am going to have a heavy zipper installed tomorrow I think, if I remember.
