Question Protecal for parking right in front of a store?

I see it from time to time. A motorcycle parked not in the parking lot but on the sidewalk entrance area to a store (fry's best buy etc etc)

It's been all different types of bikes, Harleys, Hondas and from cruisers to crotch rockets.

Just wondering what is with it and the protocal I guess.

Interesting question I think

Thanks

I do it all the time. Nobody has ever said anything to me, but I would rather deal with that than some idiot who's not paying attention in the parking lot.

Protocol? I park in front of some stores but usually I find a spot in the parking lot. Many times there are m/c specific areas. Sometimes I just get creative. At work and at home I'm lucky, inside parking at both.

I think protocol is to park in a designated parking space?
Come to think of it, I don't want any door dings on my car either. Can I park it on the sidewalk too?

I'm starting to like the front of store parking more and more. Some idiot speeding into a spot, not seeing my bike and hitting it. It would sure ruin my day.

I find it to be self important when folks do that. You've got or should have insurance. The parking lot is for vehicles, the sidewalk is not reserved for you!! Really don't care how important you think you are, or how special you think your bike is, I thinks its just rude, and I hate rude behavior, and will for sure point it out to you when the occasion presents itself. Just don't feel there is any need to be that uppity.jmho.

I think as long as you are on the store side of the "Fire Lane" and the store does not run you off it's ok.

I like the hash marks on the end of parking isle too Right by the signs, on the store entrance end.

The only ones I can really see practically parking on the sidewalk are mopeds. Otherwise my bike goes into a regular spot, not all the way in so someone doesn't go barreling into it because it looked empty.
