Gear driven cams 03 TC88B

With the Gear Drive kit, you need to have access to a hydraulic press. You should check the run-out on your pinion shaft BEFORE you buy and be certain that it's under .003." That being said, it's all pretty much straightforward.
The HD kit provides the new cam plate, tensioners, etc for bolt in. The only special tools required are an inner bearing puller which you should use because you should replace the inner bearings with Torringtons since you're in so deep to the cam chest. The run-out specs are not an issue because chains are more forgiving.
That and the Service manual and you're on your way.

Cam questions are aplenty in here for sure..
mine was $900 + tax during a winter special. That was the labor, cams, new lifters, and dyno all at one price..
gear cams are higher, how much depends on what cams..
U'll like the improvement they give U.

Well, I bought the bike just over a year ago, with 8500 miles on the clock. Good job I work offshore, or I really would be racking up some miles!! Thanks to everyone for the response. Plenty to think about, I hadn't really considered hydraulic , but might now. Been cold and wet here lately, but sunny and 63f tomorrow, guess what I'll be doing>

Had them done on my 04 Road King Classic, cost $1200 for the complete jib at my indy. I would stay away from the dealer. They don't touch my bike. I get to hang out in my indy's shop area, he shows me what he's doing, and I get to learn things about my bike that no dealer will show you or tell you.

I did S&S gear drive with 510 cams. Added the upgraded oil pump from HD, upgraded billet cam plate from HD, did the HD "premium" adjustable push rods and new lifters. Came out to $1800 at the dealership.
