well, that gives us our first peek at the hd1 factory customization program. looking at the link from cyril huze, you have your choice of 3 handlebars, pull back, drag, or mini apes, with the additional cost of $180 with the drag or minis.

i think if everything else is gonna be this expensive, then this program is gonna go over like a turd in a punch bowl. but i guess i could be wrong

I guess you save on dealer labor charges. Probably won't make many dealers very happy.

An interesting do-over of the XL1200C. This time HD really put the C in Custom to me.

I messed around with the new tool a bit and really dig the functionality over the old bike builder. It looks like the options pricing is more along the lines of the difference between the supplied stock part and the part you are selecting which seems cool. The large number of color choices alone is pretty cool plus you can select factory blacked-out or chrome bits. Toss the usual seat and choose a solo seat or a reduced reach seat or a tractor seat... awesome.

I hope that this customization pilot takes off and is applied at some point to more HD bike models. I'm sure the MoCo is looking at this to try and grab some of a younger market with this. Might do the trick but someone should tell them that 10k is still a pretty heavy price point for most young-bucks.

What's with everything going to 16" "bobber" front tires?

Guess that's the "in" style now?
Choppers are out, bobbers are in.

Meh, to each their own, but I prefer the taller, skinny tire the 1200C has had.

I think it's a cool looking Harley. I didn't think the pricing was way out there my self, when you take in to consideration that you order it with the custom parts factory installed... This could be a hit.
