Best Riding Experience

Today, I rode around the block (did a long block, almost a mile).
I'm recovering from another surgery (this one was abdominal surgery) after my accident last summer. I could barely get my leg over the seat. But it was beautiful out (mid-60s) and I couldn't resist. My wife hasn't spoken to me since I got back.
But I'm still smiling.
Motorcycles are fun. I'm much more relaxed and content, and I think my wife secretly agrees it was a good thing for me to do. She didn't actually try to talk me out of it. SHe just said "you shouldn't have pushed it out onto the driveway", because, well, I couldn't push it back into the garage.
I had to start it. And once I did that, it needed to get totally warmed up before I shut it off, didn't it ?
I think I'll push it out into the driveway again tomorrow.

I posted about my best trip ever when I finished it last September. Rather than write it again, you can see it here https://www.hdforums.com/forum/road-...435-miles.html

A buddy and I took off in July of 2008 and just decided to head south towards the French Riviera on a whim from where we are stationed in Germany. We ended up in Pamplona, Spain for the Running of the Bulls! We crossed the Pyrenese Mountains and stopped in Lourdes, France even though we're not the religious type. I got me some of that true life holy water in a tiny vial right from where the Virgin Mary appreared that I carry on my bike in case of an emergency.

I rode through the Apalachicola National Forest (Its on the top ten list for scenery) stopped at Boss Oyster for lunch (they are #1 on my list) then went up the West side of the river home! All on a beautiful spring day if I close my eyes and think about it I can still smell the pine scent from the trees!

I wish I could tell you, but I don't remember the exact road. We were coming out of Colorado and heading toward Santa Fe. It was a beautiful ride and the road had been resurfaced but was totally clear of any gravel. Lots of great high-speed sweepers and great scenery. The whole trip through Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico was great, but that one road stands out in my mind.

So far last july riding out of the parking lot of the dealer I bought my 2011 SG from. I'm sure there will be many more I only have 1600 miles on it .
And the first time My other half got on and went for a ride with me.

My latest great ride? Was last year when I took my new Tri Glide up into WV to one of my favorite places, Cass Scenic State Park! Route 250 from Staunton, VA to Bartow, WV is about 90 miles of fun with switchbacks up & over 3 sets of mountians. Can't wait for opening day.
