Is Black Pearl really gray?

it is named black pearl because it's base coat is really BLACK, it is then top coated with a black pearl/ clear coat. the black pearl is in powder form and looks/ feels like the old powdered graphite that was available for dry lubing years ago.

I have a black pearl on my bench at work and Harley pretty much nailed it. Highly metalic dark gray with green and purple undertones when the sun hits it. Oh yeah, the red stripe sets it of nicely as well. It's one of the first things that attracted me to my bike in the first place.
Two other things; it can look black in certain light and to me it doesn't show the dirt as much as vivid black . . .

I like the Black Pearl so much, I have 2-2008's the same color... My 08' Street glide and my 08' Ultra Classic. This color shows no swirls at all and shines like a black diamond. I can see how it's confused for being a very dark charcoal, but the pearls are so pronounced in the sun, it's just incredible no matter what angle you look at it in. I might be another biased owner though...
