Like Kowan said, these are exactly the same boots that I have. Most comfortable boots ever. About $200 and worth every penny.

I want the WESCOs but am I the only one that scratches my boots up shifting? Tough to pay $400 for a boot thats going to get scratched up bad.

No you aren't the only one to mar the boot on the shifter peg.
Check ebay. You might get lucky. My Chippewa boots were only $100 even though listed for $256 elsewhere.

Ditto on Red Wings - I've got several pairs of them - they last forever and you can get them re-soled. I've had two pairs for over 10 years

I've got steel toe and regular toe - no insulated for me tho

I have a few options:

for touring: http://www.aerostich.com/aerostich-c...ing-boots.html

for general cruising I also have the Double H harness boots

for short, warm weather rides, I have a good pair of riding shoes.

red wing 2218 logger boots:

don't buy online, i get them 1/2 bigger and put these superfeet insoles in them:

they're not ugg boot pillow comfortable but you have to sacrifice some of that for support. my ankles turn easy from an old sports injury and i turned it once in a pair of chucks and nearly dropped the bike bot pipe side right on my leg, so never again do i ride a heavy bike without good boots. this setup i can walk all day comfortably, especially when broken in.

i don't get the thinsulate or waterproof boots either, my feet feel like they're coming out of a swamp in those boots. these with a pair of wool socks are good in any temps or conditions i've ever ridden in.

Well I have 4 pairs of boots.
- Ariat cowboy boots http://www.sheplers.com/mens/medium_...ts/030042.html
- Caterpillar steel toe 8" boots http://www.catfootwear.com/US/en-US/...Mens-Work-Boot
- Redhead hunting boots http://www.basspro.com/RedHead-9-Bon...97223/-1676491
- Bates tactical boots http://www.batesfootwear.com/US/en-U...?galleryId=G-F

The Ariat cowboy boots are actually comfortable for me and I've walked around in them all day with no problem. The Caterpillar steel toe boots of course isn't comfortable, but every pair of steel toe work boots I've had I buy some DR. Scholl's which help a lot. Redhead hunting boots you wouldn't wear for riding but they're comfortable. The Bates tactical boots are comfortable as hell, they feel as comfortable if not more than the Ariat cowboy boots. The Bates boots also has a zip-up side so that's a nice feature, don't have have to tie them except for the 1st time so they slip on almost as fast as the cowboy boots.

All of my boots have held up really well, haven't had the Bates boots long enough to see how long they last but I good good stuff about their boots.
