Do you know what town in Connecticut that the Indian Rider was from and/or the accident location. I am from CT, and we are very concerned. We ride with alot of Indian Riders.

Thanks

Scott

Accident, helmets AND waving all in one post.
A trifecta.

It is not mandatory here in Minnesota, but I put a lot of time in on my bike every year and I've read waaaay too many reports of accidents this year. I just figured my number may be coming up after 17 years of riding with no helmet.
Not mandatory here either but I have been having the same feelings lately. And have been looking at DOT helmets. Lots more careless drivers and distractions as well as way to many Fast and the Furious wanna-be's out there. Nineteen years w/o a helmet. Might be pushing my luck myself.

I live in Ohio where I don't have to wear a helmet, and don't wear one unless travelling out of state. I read many articles in the newspaper where a motorcyclist was killed and it finishes the article stating..."he WAS wearing a helmet". If you guys want to revert to name-calling when it comes to someone who chooses not to wear a helmet (so far I have read stupid and dumbass), then so be it. I am not going to get into reasons to wear, or not to wear, a helmet. I choose not to wear one, and if you think I am a dumbass because I don't, then simply don't ride with me.

Also, I've found that here in Connecticut, where there is no helmet law, I don't get waved to as often as when I ride outside my state. Is it because of the full-face helmet? Do they think I'm metric and snub me? I wave at everybody, regardless of the bike's make.

Who gives a crap who waves, ride your bike[sm=dontgetit.gif]

Up here in Canada, we don't have the choice, so I've always ridden with a lid, and really didn't know if I did have the choice, whether I would wear one or not. Then I got the chance to ride without one for a while when I was in Delaware at the beginning of August, and I can tell you that if I had the choice, I would be going lid-free! It just felt "right".

Cheers!

Sorry to hear about the downed biker.
Reference the helmets: -Optional in FL as long as you carry $10,000 medical insurance to cover the rider's medical bills and the taxpayers don't have to foot the bill.
-I wear a Super Seer half helmet.

Ride safe.
