I'm sure this so called "factory customization" program is just like you said...a tool to sell P&A out of the catolog and you get to choose the dealer you want to hack up your bike. CVO's are the only (hand built) factory customs. Getting a bike built with all the parts and accessories you choose done on an assembly line would likely be a logistical nightmare and would surely cause many assembly line stops. Even the "paint shop" is a spare set of tins either dealer installed or carry out.

This program is allegedly only for the 2011 1200C. Options include Seat, Paint, Foot Controls, Handlebars, and Wheels. There is already a thread on this topic here: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/genera...rogram-15.html We will see on Feb. 4th what it is all about. Only a select number of parts can be optioned, and supposedly the word is all parts are 33% off book price. Don't take my word for it, though, we will have to see.

I hope not. It would suck if I could never buy a Harley newer than 2011. I like older ones, but the prices would be through the roof if they didn't dump water cooling within a year or 2.

Maybe they'll offer colors that go with other parts of the year besides Easter.
