Looks like fun , my wifes 05 1200 C is a hoot to ride , water cooling would make more ponies. This could be an entertaining scoot

I'm curious if the MoCo is trying to tap into the naked muscle-bike craze. Get the younger crowd hooked on a harley at young age, then they'll progress to bigger bikes as they get older. That was the idea behind the original sportster, wasn't it?

Ya' know, I wouldn't be opposed to a water-cooled Harley if it resulted in less engine heat on the rider. But, I would want Harley to keep the hydraulic lifters so that I don't have to worry about valve adjustments. (I was seriously considering a VROD at one point but when I saw the 10k valve clearance check requirements, I nixed the idea.)

If all of HD's water cooled engines end up foregoing hydraulic lifters, I'll be moving back to a metric (Honda or BMW).

the bike in the article and that concept drawing both look like a copy of a Storz sporty (minus the water cooled part) - which is pretty well just a copy of the XR - I'd take the XR or the StorzXR models

Nope, the Sporty developed from the K model, which developed from the W model, and was the OHV answer to the light & hot Brit bikes, especially on the dirt tracks.

Just went and looked at a Kaw 600 t'other day with the oldest boy. 8,000 miles and has had 3 water pumps/radiators. Hopefully the boy will take a pass on this one. Yeah, it's plastic-fast, but has no soul!

I'm another ol' fart who'll stick with an outdated air-cooled motor. Hopefully, one of my boys will ride my last bike to my cremation, or better yet, to Medicine Wheel in Wyoming to chunk my sorry ashes off the cliff!
