HD earnings beat estimates. Stock is up over 6% today.
"Harley-Davidson said its share of the U.S. market -- its biggest and most important -- had increased in the fourth quarter. Its sales there slipped just 0.2 percent, while heavyweight motorcycle retail sales plunged 14.8 percent industrywide."
The MoCo must be doing something right.

Harley has made many tough and unpopular calls over the last few years to keep themselves afloat. Good for them that some of them seem to be paying off.

March of 09 some guy posts on this forum to buy HOG stock. I wondered if this guy knew something inside. That particular day it bottomed at 6.75, the lowest it has been. I studied it and backed out, too many concerns

They said that it lost $ 46.8 million,or 20 cents a share in the 4th qtr.,compared to a loss a year ago of $ 218.7 million,or 94 cents a share.
Revenue rose to $ 917.08 million from $ 764.50 million a year ago. Analysts were expecting $ 854 million.

They have positioned themselves for a great comeback or a huge buyout. Smart management! I recommended a buy at 25 about 8 months ago

I procratinated over buying back in 1994 when stock was, IIRC, about $26/share. It has since split twice and at one time went to about $60/share. If my foot could reach my aZZ!.
