Our Take
Harley-Davidson dominates roughly 50% of the U.S. market, providing scale advantages over most competitors. Furthermore, the company maintains an extremely strong franchise. It has a network of over 680 independent U.S. dealers (over 1,300 worldwide), 55% of which exclusively market Harley-Davidson branded motorcycles. As a result, the company retained a Zacks #1 Rank on its stock, which translated to a ‘Strong Buy’ recommendation for the short term (1–3 months).

It was I that you speak of. I had no inside information then or now. I did advise my daughter to purchase HOG then and like a good girl, she listened to her dad. Now she's up over 275% in that short time
Myself, I got to retire at age 43 over 12 yrs ago due to my HD holdings

Somewhere on this forum there should be a sticky thread on investments. The more info shared the better.

I bought H-D stock way back in '87. Bought some for a couple friends and myself. Unfortunately, I did it as a gimmick instead of an investment. I've kept my "gimmick" shares and they have grown very nicely. Been kickin' myself in the azz ever since for not doing this as an investment. . .

One thing I've noticed since '90. When the investment "experts" say HOG isn't recommended as a Buy or Hold then it's time to load up on HOG stock. I truly believe as long time bikers we know more about the HD culture and what's more in demand than the suits on Wall St.
I'm not an expert in investment portfolios. However I've always demanded that HOG be included in my portfolio even if it was against "expert" advice. Those so called expert opinions against HOG investing has cost me a great deal in portfolio value.
HOG remains my portfolio's cornerstone since 1990. My motorcycle stable may not always have a HD in it, but I'll always have a stake in HD by investing in this company
As for stock advice. Wait for a dip in HOG and then buy. Though we may laugh at posers buying all sorts of HD garb, make sure you're the one laughing all the way to the bank.
