Default Battery Tender Charging

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a fuse in the pigtail line going to the battery.
Thanks all in advance.

Pretty sure mine has an in-line fuse on the pigtail bolted to the battery, but not on the one with clamps.

I have a replacement Battery Tender to battery cable still in the bag and it has a fuse. The fuse is a 7.5 amp fuse. The cable with the clips has the same fuse.

Depends on the charger. My Harley one has one and the Bell from Walmart does not. I think it's for someone who does not know any better using the #10 wire to try and jump start it.

Default Battery Tender Charging

The bike is a 08 road king and my battery tender charger is no longer working.
I checked the charger and it is working.
But when i plug it up the redcharging light blinks on anoff all the time instead of staying solid red for charging.
the battery inducator on the speedo shows everything ok.
the battery starts the engine.
so i think there must be something wrong with the pig tail?

My 2010 FLSTC has a fuse in the stock pigtail that came with the bike. I have two Tenders that work fine on other bikes. But the Harley fuse blew consistently when either Tender hooked up. Dealer fixed it twice--still blew. I put in next larger fuse and problem solved.

There is a square fuse holder in the line. Pull it apart to find a standard fuse. It may be as low as a 3 amp fuse, as the charger is only 1.25 amps. Some other leads are heavier and may have a larger fuse. Check the pictures at the link below and you can see the fuse holder.
