Default Vrod pricing.

I've been looking at a 05 VRSCB stock with 1,000 miles on it. Their asking 12,400.00 for it now but its been at the dealership for over four months. If I wait till december and they still have it do ya'll think I will get significant discount due to it being winter and them having it for so long without selling it? They have three used Vrods that have been there for a while. I'm hoping to get them to drop another thousand dollars before I buy.

They are fantastic bikes but I don't think they move many of them. Harley riders are looking for Harleys not bikes that look and sound like the metric cruisers. New V-Rods in Portland were selling for 15K right before the 07's came out.

If you think you want a VRod this seems like a good price. You just need to remember that if you need to sell it later it could be tough. I had one and liked it except for the small fuel tank. It was an 03 and at about 115 miles you could be pushing.

You can find great deals in the classifieds on v-rods, they dont hold their value as well as other harleys

If you really want it, why don't you negotiate with them now. Offer a thousand less. By December it may be gone. In my experience it has been easier getting over paying too much for something that I really wanted than getting over losing the one that got away. It's only money, dude.

What your saying is true, but I have noticed there are alot of used Vrods on the market right now and this one is pretty stock so it should be easy to find another one that is identical. I may take your advice though and go talk to the salesman again and see what the best deal he can give me. If I don't like it I'll leave and come back in a month if its still there and see what he says.

I think our main negotiation point, and problem right now is going to be interest rate. They will try to screw me there if I let them so If I can get it low enough I'll probably deal with them.

What are used ones selling for? I look on ebay, but it seems the bikes for sale never meet the reserve.

That's because some people believe that there are other people out there that think they're getting a deal....Not gonna happen. Most VRod sellers want to cash in on the HD V-Twin personna...Not the same thing and the re-sale value speaks for itself on this.

The VRod is a nice bike (I really like the engineering) if that's what you want...But it's not a Heritage/Ultra/Fatboy or any of the others.

My brother sold his 2006 NightRod (600 miles) for $12,400 on Ebay. The salesman talked him into buying it new, but it just wasn't "Harley enough" compared to his friend's Sportster. So he bought a 2006 Street Glide. Much happier now.
