I used aa1 auto transport, they got the broker for me, and you wont have to pay duty either, you dont pay duty on anything made in north america, and i just took my paper from RIV to anadian tire, and got it stamped, i didnt even have the bike with me, it was pretty easy.

Deely has a stranglehold on the Canadian market. Dealers in the northern US states have been closed due to Deely getting involved and crying to Harley. Deely has exclusive rights in Canada and is bleeding it for every penny. The sad part is that a lot of US dealers have paid the price by losing their franchises. I am not blaming the Canadian shoppers on this one.

I bought an 07 Nightrain from a US car dealer, the only thing I havent seen mentioned here is make sure any recalls have been done on the bike, otherwise that can be a problem at the border, not sure if a border thing or a Deeley thing, had to have the VIN searched for recalls. Also I think Deeley can only get worked up if it is a new unregisterd bike, at least that is what the dealers in the US say. Once you jump thru the hoops it is a snap to get them here.

Deeley is putting a stranglehold on the Canadian market. This is from Transport Canada website

FYI, the CEO of Deeley sits on the BoD of H-D.

I'm in New Brunswick. Bought my 98 Fat Boy near Boston, MA for about 55% of what I would have paid here. Took the wife with me to go get it and made a weekend out of it. Paperwork was nothing really... especially since I saved about $4000...
And my bike didn't require any modifications... even though the speedo is in MPH and there are no reflectors or signals on it... It also helps that no safety inspection is required in NB... yet...

I just went through this this year.I bought the bike off ebay, and it was about as straight forward as it gets. Bought the bike, got a copy of the bill of sale and the title. Found a shipping company to take it to Blaine Washington .(took way to long ) Had the bike dropped at a shipping company i have my USA stuff dropped at . Put my paper work in with the US customs office for vehicle exporting. (At least 72 hours before importing) Picked bike up myself with a borrowed trailer, brought the bike to the US side first , checked vin and stamped my title, went to Canadian side checked my paper work(didn't check VIN) and paid the gst portion of my taxes. Contacted RIV Canada with my forum 1 info ,paid my 195 plus taxes and waited for my forum 2 from them. Took bike to Canadian tire(that's who they have check them over) he checked the vin gave the bike a general once over( running light and crap) ( I already changed my speedo to a Dakota digital so it was set for k's) From what i understand, they will just put stickers on your speedo for kilometers. He rubber stamped my forum 2 and sent it to riv Canada for me and charged me 11 dollars for tire eco fee( b.s charge) ...insured bike..she's all mine now.
