AUBURN— The principal dealer of Sheldon’s Harley-Davidson & Buell was injured Monday afternoon in a collision in front of the dealership on Routes 12 and 20.
Orville G. Sheldon, 63, of Paxton was taken by town ambulance to UMass Memorial Medical Center —University Campus in Worcester, where a hospital spokesman said he was in fair condition yesterday afternoon.
State Trooper Lisa Mogan is the investigating officer in the accident that occurred about 2 p.m. Monday. A spokesman in the state police barracks said Mr. Sheldon was heading east, driving a 2007 orange and black Screamin’ Eagle Harley-Davidson Road Glide motorcycle, when Sharlyn E. Kervel, 60, of Auburn, heading west and driving a 2002 Grand Jeep Cherokee, made a left turn in front of Mr. Sheldon.
The state police spokesman said Ms. Kervel was cited for failure to use care in turning.
Police Chief Andrew J. Sluckis Jr. said eastbound traffic was delayed about 45 minutes.
Mark E.A. Ziemba, a parts clerk at the dealership, who also helps people sign up for the establishment’s rider education program, said Mr. Sheldon’s family was giving employees at the dealership updates on his condition.
“He’s doing OK,” said Mr. Ziemba, reporting that Mr. Sheldon had suffered some broken ribs, a broken upper left arm, a broken shoulder blade and a possible broken ankle.
Mr. Ziemba said Mr. Sheldon was known to be a very safe, cautious driver.
“He’s one of the safest drivers I’ve ever known,” he said. “He’s a very experienced driver with a lot of miles under his belt. He’s not reckless at all.”

Glad he's relatively OK. They won't, but that dumb bitch needs to have her license yanked and be charged w/a class A misdemeanor assault. These moron uppys get in their fat SUVs and think themselves bullet proof so damn anyone else that gets in their way. But hey, maybe they can put airbags on all bikes so it will all be OK. I bet the driver was on a cell phone at the time of the accident, needs to be a national law on using them when you are behind the wheel.
