Is biker gel worth it?

No, HELL NO. I had a gel insert installed in a softail deluxe seat and fn hated it. It feels good at first but after riding awhile it would make my butt bones hurt. My son rode my bike one day with it and he came back saying the same thing. A kinky hair sheep cover feels good on my EG tho.

I love the work MCC does. They fixed the Sundowner on my RK so I could ride for hours. I have another bike (and seat now) that needs the same work. I sure wish there was someone closer to California that did the same kind of work. The shipping back and forth kills me. It isn't the weight, it's the dimensions. Guess I'll quit whining and just send the seat to MCC again.

I like it alot.Been thru a bunch of seats over the years and find the gell the most comfortable.Had MCC do a Badlander seat with the foam and I can ride that seat all day also.I could never tell the difference between gel or not in the heat. When it's hot both seats are hot and cool off a mile down the road.

Find a local company that re-does car seats, take your bike there and tell them you want a better fit. Let them see where you actually sit on the seat....as in do you need to be 1/4" or maybe 1/2" closer to the foot pegs? Or, do you need to be 1/4" further away?
Do ya wanna sit higher?
Do ya wanna sit lower?
Harder seat? softer seat?
Leather, or pleather?
If leather and you want custom art, tell them you want to take the leather to someone BEFORE it is attached to the seat pan, and after it is finished you'll bring back the leather to be installed.
Now THIS is a CUSTOM seat!
A good company will take measurements while you are sitting on it, and they will make sure your posture is right while taking those measurements.
It'll cost about the same....
