Windshield Recommendation

It is imperative that you are able to pop your head over the shield in the event that it fog's over or gets covered in crap from a passing car.
Go to a dealer & sit on a bike like yours that has a wind shield. If it seems like a good fit, Ask them for the spec's on it & order one.

Replaced the stock windshield on my UC not long after I got it. Most of the aftermarket windshield retailers that I researched suggest that, for "proper" sizing, you should be seated on the bike comfortably and be able to see an object at ground level at least 50 feet in front of the windshield.
Step off 50 feet in front of your bike, put a rock on the ground, get back on the bike, and see if you can see that rock over the top of the windshield in your normal, seated position. That's it for the windshield height check.

Opinions on windshields are like ********... everyone has one! That said here's my $.02... Get what you feel most comfortable with for your style of riding. Around town and short runs I ride with no windscreen... for longer day runs or multi-day runs, I sport an over sized (4" taller and 2" wider) acrylic wind screen with a re-curve edge. I keep it polished so that rain and such just slides off and it doesn't fog up... I can see thru it better than anyone can see over theirs in a driving rain and this is especially helpful because I wear prescription eye-wear... ever tried to keep glasses clear in the rain... I just duck down a little behind the windscreen and life is good. Point is, what's good for you is your choice and all those should's and shouldn't's that everyone swear by are not all that important on a personal level.

Memphis Shades Del Rey. Keeps the wind off of your chest but still gives you the 'wind in your face' feeling that most Dyna riders long for. It is small enough to not detract from the look of the bike while still being functional. Check it out http://www.memphisshades.com/harley-...family/del-rey .

windshield recommendation
I went with a windvest 16" tall for my deluxe. It sits about the tip of my nose depending on the rotation. Since it mounts to the handlebars it will rotate on the handle bars to stand it up more or rotate towards you to see over it a little more. The 16" has additional mounting holes to lower it to 15" or even 14". it takes the buffeting at my helmet away but still get alot of air on my chest. So when it drops down in temperture it a little chilly. I just bought a used King size detachable windshield to extend my riding time. I hope this helps. JC
