The personal property tax is 4.2% per $100 assessed value and reduced by 58% for the first $20,000 of the assessed value due to the state car tax relief . Luckily this year I do not need to renew license plates for any vehicles, so that knocks about $260 off the motorcycles.

Even though I do not ride the FJ much any more, I just can't get rid of it. Need to keep it around for some back road riding.

I'm going tomorrow, it's $26 in Michigan for plates.
But we have an extra $100 "imposted fee" on our insurance for motorcycles only!! So no matter what company you have, the insurance company "collects" the "fee" for teh state!!
