What do these digital oil temp dip sticks cost?
Myself, I try to not to "cook" my motors by planning my trips around heavy traffic situations and the hot time of the days. For example, I do a lot of trips between Jacksonville and Pensacola, 360 miles. During these hot summer months I leave Jaxs around 4AM, riding west with the sun rising in the east it's not in my face, beautiful sunrises, little fog patches, very little traffic, too early for the cops to be out. On the return trip, heading east, I leave Pensacola in the late afternoon getting into Jaxs in the evening, again the suns on my back the whole ride, not in my eyes. On the down side I do get more bugs on the evening rides.

I had one, it only worked for about two weeks. I took it back and had to "jump up and down" on the parts managers desk to get them to take it back. Besides, I hated having to push a button each time I wanted to know the oil temp, which didn't work well for me with winter gloves on. With the analog one, I just glance and I have the information I need.

I really like mine from http://www.jescustomaccents.com/ I have had it for a while now and no problems. He makes them for many HD models/years. Check out the thread over in the touring section... https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...emp-gauge.html

They cost/list for $149.95.
They not only show the oil temperature but oil level as well. Which comes handy if you have aftermarket 2 into 1 pipes on a Dyna which comes very close to the oil fill opening.
These do come with a 1 year warranty from HD from what my dealer tells me. Mines going on 2 years without any issues. I may get another one for my RK once I figure out if I want a chrome one or black one.

Had one on for about a year and a half. Battery died. Went to replace and noticed oil on circuit board. Still on my work bench in a rag. Replaced with stock stick and run SYN3 in motor. Learned enough about oil temps while it was working so I didn't feel the need to replace.
