Umm, an 03 EG is going to WAAAAY cheaper than even a 06 streetglide.

SG's do good money.

I was forced onto this road myself. I could have spent $15k on a 06 with average miles. Instead I bought an 07 FLHT standard w/3k for $11k. I'm 99% streetglide and only about $600 into it at this point. I just bought an 18" front wheel/tire. I've done the gauges/fillers/dash/lights/lowered/tag/fascia/seat. I lack the radio/tri-bar light and front fender as of right now. All those are in the works. ..oh and mirrors I already bought.

I couldn't imagine the reasoning behind going the other way. A streetglide into a heritage? Makes no sense money wise. I can understand wanting the looks of the heritage but why start with a fairing bike?

I also bought a detachable sissy bar for the wife for local riding when the tour pack is not needed. If you do the work yourself, it really isn't that expensive, and its easy to do.
Aloha Geoff,
Do the stock SG mirrors bolt right onto an older fairing?

You have to drill the mounting hoes but they bolt right on after that. If you buy new they come with a template to mark the hole with....not that it helps as most move the hole to help avoid looking at your knuckles.

Thanks for the quick reply. About how far did you move yours from the stock position. Is it just a move out or is it up also?

Thanks

Thank you for your response. I have done the math and made an educated choice on my eg purchase. I will turn the wrench myself and customize this my way. when it is all said and done I will have 11 thousand in to a 03 flhtci with 20k a 5 year warranty I've done the 95" big bor kit with cam. this bike is the silver and blk 100 year aniversary paint with the badges on it that I personally like. The sg was not available in 03 and there are other advantages to the eg over the sg that fit my needs. As you can see in the above pics and threads there are many out there who have done the same thing.

I am planning on doing the mod soon, Zanotti's has the entire kit for $258 + $20 for shipping, bought a take-off SG seat for on EBAY. Relocated the AM/FM antenna under the fairing today for the price of a 6mm bolt and a few tie straps. Looks like I will get away for well under $400.
