I put the detachable kit on my tour-pak and bought a Street Glide seat off the take off shelf at the dealer for $50. I lowered it by putting Street Glide shocks on the rear. I didn't like the new ride so I put the stock shocks back on. I put the tour-pak back on for a long trip and haven't removed it again since.

I have a 99 Ultra that I am morphing into a hybrid that borrows elements I like from the Street Glide.

I have been scouring eBay and have found some great deals (and some not so great deals). I have a fender from a Street Glide on its way to me right now. I like the clean look of the front fender. I also like the look of the rear fender with tri-bar light and fascia/filler.

Thanks for the info on the Kuryakyn light. For some reason I can't find anyone selling a pre-owned Street Glide style tail light/turn signal assembly.

It's your bike. Do what makes you happy.

This is my '03, personally I like the look better than a Street Glide. JMO.

The detach kit for the tour pak is easy to install, and the wiring has modular plugs from the factory. A lower seat makes the biggest difference. Mine is a Corbin Gambler.

My Father-in-law Has an 09 Ultra Classic which he did something along those lines. He put the FBI drop kit on which makes it 3-5" lower ,removed all the hardware and crash bars along the bags and fenders, had a new seat made, relocated the antenna, and had a removable tour pack kit put on. When he strips it down its WAY nicer than any street Glide I have seen but it dosn't come cheap, I bet he's got almost 8 Grand into the bike.

You just bought an 03 EG but what you really want is a Street Glide. I'll avoid the obvious question....why didn't you buy what you wanted. You could have bought an 06 Street Glide for what it's gonna cost you to convert your 03 EG, and even then it will never be a Street Glide. In the future, save your money and buy what you want instead of trying to convert something into something else.

Exactly Mr.Hog Buy what YOU want and modify later. It usually saves you more $$ in the long run.
