I'm sorely tempted to buy some tarps & just nail them up as a temp wall and wind/snow break.

Can't just nail up plywood, as that would could as enough of construction to require a building permit....stupid, but oh well.
I might just run up to City Hall & ask for an exemption....plead mercy for my poor children, er, bikes.

We can put a shed up to 120 square feet without a permit (have one in back for yard stuff).
I wanted to put up a couple of those as little bike garages...but MrsGru says they'd look too tacky.
Whatever....yea, I think I'll get some tarps.

Put up the plywood.. and hide it with a tarp..
If you get caught , it's sometimes easier to
ask for forgiveness than get permission.

Not with the jurisdictions up here... tarp for now.. building permit and a new wall later if not two ... we can have this covered.

Hey steve! Nice to see you on here, dude.

Yea, the code guys here are real picky.
What's worse is we have one household in the subdivision that's a PITA...they literally go around the neighborhood & if they see anything they call.
Not just anyone...they managed to get the police chief's home number somehow & call him directly.
He hates it, but has guys "take care of it" fast so they stop calling him. (and apparently he can't bitch them out about it, because they're friends with the mayor or some crap & they technically do only call on legally legit complaints. But they wonder why their house gets TP'd every year....)

a little snow on your bikes wont hurt.but if their is a chance it might hail, put them way under their and don't forget that time.I will be glad when spring time gets here but I don't miss cutting the grass.

When I bought my first Harley, a '93 Sportster, I wedged it inside an 8 x 8 Handi-House outbuilding.

A few years later we moved into a house with an attached garage. My wife's car and my truck are outside but my Heritage is inside.

Hell man, if nothing else, go to walmart or an army surplus store and buy a damn tent! Ain't no way I'm leaving my Harley out in the weather.
