Cool, this will be my project for the down time from work. On my Black and white deluxe they really look out of place.

Yea, got the one side done and it was simple. Been looking at those reflectors since I picked the bike up in October, and never liked them. Should have done it sooner.

While I agree that the bike looks better without them, mine are staying on. I don't want some cage hitting me and their lawyer being able to say that I was harder to see because I had removed the factory reflectors.

Holy ****...we wouldn't want that. +1 on hardly noticing that they're there.

I dont even notice them on my bike...no plans on removing them.

last week a guy on a Sporty turned a lefty in front of me and had his reflectors removed...i barley say him once his head lamp was out of my line of sight.

kinda curious that we want to be heard with our pipes, and fight and complain for our rights to do as we please, but then turn around and willingly give ourselves a big minus in the opposite directions by removing other safety equipment.
Well worded and so true. I WANT to be seen, I DONT want to get T boned or run over. Reflectors work. Why take them off??

If cagers manage to hit bikers in broad daylight...claiming they didn't even see them, thinking they will see you at night is kinda silly. I would bet if the manufactures weren't required to put them on by law they would be the first thing omitted to cut cost's. Besides the OP was asking how to get them off without damaging the paint...not to debate on whether you feel safer or not with them. Take a look at how many wrecked bikes at salvage yards have reflectors on them. I understand your point but it's not like they provide an invisible force field around you and your bike at night. Personal choice...I think the bike looks cleaner without them, and I suppose everyone that took theirs off feel the same way.

I understand the safety factor and respect people's opinions on this. Been working steel mills for 33 years so know the dangers of safety. This is one of those subjects that could go on forever. Appreciate the input from everyone, and the tips on how to get them off.

Great meaningless 1st post.

Peddle your wares and "binda" coverage somewhere else. And don't forget your hair dryer, fishing line and adhesive remover.

I like the Black Reflective Striping Tape in the day time you can't see it that much. Then in the dark it will reflect the light.
