Thanks for the replies esp oct1949 for the article. NO I am not looking for bragging rights over a latte- I'm leaving in two weeks to ride Rt 10 from Fla to Ca and back and I don't want to burn my boots when moving my feet around on the pegs. Any "can't miss" things on that road that I should look for? Thanks and Merry Christmas..

Don't know the exact temp, but it's hot enough to leave a big a$$ed blister that one time I accidently touched the pipe with my leg.

yeah, did we fail science class? you're not boiling water, you're trying to light a piece of paper.......

The flash point of paper is 350 degrees C or 662 degrees F.

The ignition temperature of paper is 450 degrees C or 842 degrees F.

Well, in my science class I found out about heat and its effect on density of gasses and vapors. Also that it is directly proportional.

The short way, hot gas is less dense so it is lighter, if its lighter, if will move easier...
Wrapping a 'tuned' header, one that is designed to scavenge the port, will make it scavenge more efficiently. Not so much on pipe made to blow up dresses or sweep streets or just be 'louder' than stock.

Much more notice-able on a turbo application.

PS: if your buying header wrap, buy it from a car place, its WAY cheaper and there is plenty on a roll!
