Default Fuel Moto 107" Big Bore Kit

i have yet to contact Fuel Moto about their 107" Big Bore Kit. i would like to hear from members whom have installed this kit into a 08 Ultra Classics. im making my last payment February 2nd and i have been thinking about getting this kit.

what im looking for is motor reliability, freeway acceleration from 70-80. what i want is that, "getting pushed back into my seat" when i want to get around someone on the freeway. right now, with a stage one, i just dont have that. most importantly, its a touring bike, i ride a lot with the wife long distances. i dont want to give up the reliability. if i have to constantly be tuning and dealing with junk like that, its not worth it to me to go with the 107.

i was also thinking about doing the install myself. does the kit come with good instructions for the lay person, or is it a job a good Harley tech needs to do the work. i know once i complete the work, ill need it Dyno. i was also thinking about getting a Power Commander V and trading up from my PC III.

any thoughts

thanks for the feed back.

If you want reliability, go with a good bolt-in cam, like the Wood TW6-6, TW555 or Headquarters 500 and go from there. Any of these will give your 96er w/stock compression some good kick, and will continue to perform well under further mods such as higher compression head work and/or bigger jugs. Also, if your looking to upgrade your fuel management module, take a good look at the new Dynojet Power Vision. Pretty sweet new technology in fuel management that'll read maps from your current Power Commander.

i just checked out the Dynojet Power Vision. pretty cool. but my question would be, if i have a Power Commder V with an Auto Tuner, would a Dynojet Power Vision be necessary?

Well I went a little different and put the S&S 106 big bore kit on my 09 ultra, along with some 551 cams. All bolt on. No issues. The torque I gained was incredible pretty much from idle up through 4000 rpms. I now have some passing power on the highway which was the one thing lacking on the stock 96. I use a pcV. I had it on a dyno after install so I could get an initial map, from there I can make adjustments. I have considered an autotune but it's not been a priority.
As far as reliability, I can't speak of that until I run up a few years on the upgrades. Right now I only got 179 miles on the big bore before the snow fell and stayed. Sure had to get used to the added torque though. Totally different bike. One bad side effect is that it made my already too loud Rineharts louder yet. I'll probably have to change those out this coming summer.

Not sure if you did a search on it yet, but there's a thread here concerning their build.

Nope. It's not an addition to the PCV, I just recommended it as an alternative.
