going from a full face to shorty helmet was not enjoyable for me. the noise from the pipes and the road noise(big truck tires, etc) was very uncomfortable and took away from my riding enjoyment. the 3/4 really reduced noise and offered protection from the cold without being too hot in the sun. vision was also better than the ff.

 

A valid case can be made for wearing or not wearing a helmet... like Nick@Night, I CHOOSE to not wear a helmet when not required by the insurance industry of whatever state I am in at the time. I also CHOOSE not to pass judgement on those who choose to wear helmets... it is what it is and to each his own. I don't believe that I have a $5 head or that I am senseless just because I choose to not wear a helmet... "if you have a 5 dollar head, buy a 5 dollar helmet" is IMO a stupid passive aggressive expression of a very frustrated individual... this is the type of person who has deep seeded control issues, probably because they have never been in control of their own lives. "Live and Let Live" has never been an option for them.

But suggest a trip to cylegear if there is one in your area. Carry everything. Try 'em on. Fit is everything and all brands aren't same

 

My philosophy is simple. If you decide to wear a helmet, or if the law requires, wear one that will protect you. The DOT helmets all look basically alike so you will not be the only one looking like a mushroom head.

 

I think I'm going to get a Daytona Skull Cap Helmet & a Bell Custom 500 Speed Soul Helmet. I'm sure I will end up with a few different one's & just alternate between all of them.

 

Yeah, what the hell were Fred and Barney snorting to have this green-helmeted freak floating around them? Wow, I want some!
