I took my motor test on a 1989 Moto Guzzi Mille with a fairing, bags, lights and a siren....hehehehe He looked at me funny when I showed up on a licensed emergency vehicle but I passed the test.

To me these people are just rude and no class. And there are a lot of Harley riders that fall in this bunch.

To me no company is better than bad company, I would have left before the ride started with BS like that. And I would not have made a excuse about the helmet. I would advised they rude and should have stated this was a closed scooter ride.

That is the point! The "Humor" I found in this was that the ~Scooter People~ were as rude as they were... Hard to believe (when you are looking at a grown man sitting on a 250cc CHINESE scooter complete with road rash from being laid down) that he is "Disrespecting" someone else's choice of ride...
I only stayed a bit because I had agreed to go on the ride with a neighbor. I won't be accepting many "Group Ride" offers (from him) in the future

Given time you become deaf to the badgering.A lot of times it is done in fun trying to stir the pot. Most of the time I laugh along, bottom line for me is will never be without my Harleys no matter what anybody has to say.

Funny, almost every time I was out on the Harley I was wishing I was on a Honda/Kawasaki/Yamaha, or more specifically, my Suzuki. This was especially true when I would twist the volume control, I mean throttle, and very little happened or when the road would start to twist up on itself.
Everyone has different tastes and wants different things from their bikes. To think that what your riding (be it a Harley or a scooter) is the absolute best out there is short sighted and ignorant. It may be the best for you but that doesn't mean the next guy will get the same satisfaction from it.

If I lived in a Big City I'd own a "Bad ***" scooter like an Aprilia
