VERY GLAD to see that you're well enough to write about your experience. Very well written by the way - an excellent read.
I like your emphasis on the blessings your sis has brought you. Right F'ing on.
(i'm thinking maybe she could by ME a gremlin bell for my geezer-glide!)
glad your ok man. I'm hoping to take a ride up to Vegas from El Paso maybe this spring.
take care

You need to drop your name in your sig line so we can know you better than just a handle.
Then I could tell you, by name, glad to hear you made it through.
Add a couple more chapters and I see a whole book called "Blood On The Leather" an account of some who "lived to tell about it".
Seriously your account of what had just happened to you was very intriguing, and as others point out it looked like a long read but kept me wanting to read it all ... very good!
Happy to hear you made it through. Next chapter should be all about the bike and I'll be waiting.
I caught a series of pot holes on a curve that I thought I was going to power through the twisties. Had to straighten up the bike after a couple of bad holes. Down through the ditch, heading for a tree. In the weeds and dirt you can see my track right up to the base of the tree, and then a slight veer sent me into the brier bushes.
I stopped standing up, still setting on the bike, stuck upright so tightly shoved into those briers I couldn't fall over. The truck I had passed a few yards before the corner stopped to check on me and I'll never, ever forget what the driver said after it was apparent I was OK and just a few scrapes on my hip where it struck the tree as I went by ...
He said to me "Be careful son, them things are man killers"!

Glad to hear you are OK. We were going to head up to Vegas yesterday, took a shorter bop through Oatman instead but may cruise your way today. Where exactly is that gravel curve?
Weather is going to hold for another week it appears, hope you are back up and riding soon. One thing we have noticed since moving here is desert sand/gravel can be anywhere anytime of year. Bummer it took you down but congrats not out!

Greetings,
Bad ride....good read.
First, glad you are OK and telling the story instead of being the story on the news.
I know not knowing what shape the bike is in hurts more than the physical pain but it can be fixed.
Sounds like your rider spirit is intact and you will ride again soon.

You're right about how fast the mind races when something like that pops up ... amazing, and sounds like you did the best you could. Going down in the gravel at speed would have been f'ugly.
Like the others said, great writeup! You have a knack for telling a tale and making it humorous. And you don't look too bad for what you went through.
Heal up, get back out there. Some of us have to put 'em away now. What a b!tch.
