What gear do you stop in ?

Flash brakes to warn driver behind I'm preparing to stop or slow down, gear down and use engine braking down to 1st gear, leave room to escape, position bike off-centre from vehicle in front, watch mirrors and traffic to sides, N once lots of traffic stops behind, left foot down, right foot on brake, (or right foot down, left foot ready to shift, right hand on brake, left hand ready to clutch), head on constant swivel, watch for light change, watch for cross traffic, holler at the dude(ette) yakking on the cell phone next to me, take a sedative to calm down, look at the chick in the next car/truck/crosswalk (or anywhere else for that matter), light up a smoke, take a swig of water, clean my glasses, wipe the rain off my visor(or pull the tear-strip off), fiddle with my i-Pod, and anything else I have time for.
Wondering if I have mice elf in the right place.
Whew...lots to do. That's why I refuse to stop at any stop sign or light. Just blow them off.

I stop in 1st if it is a stop sign. If I come to a light, I will more than likely slip it into neutral if the light just turned red, givin' the old hands a second off the clutch. If I get hit I will blame it on Mice elf for not watchin'!

My city has 1 traffic light that flashes red 24/7....unless the intersection is slippery...then it quits flashing all together when it's laying on its side, squashed into the snow bank.
My previous post is from my extensive experience riding in places like Milwaukee in 2003 for a week.

Sometimes I simply hold the clutch and use my brakes to stop. When the light turns green, I let out the clutch and almost stall because I'm still in 4th .... lol .. feel like a real dumbass.

Stopping for a stop sign or a light, always in 1st gear. Ready to go, unless it's going to be a long light AND there are several cars stopped behind me already, then I'll put in neutral if I want to rest my hands.

I am impressed by everyone that can find neutral!
Until now I always stop in 1st. Only thing is that I am in the process of installing a suicide clutch/jockey shift. My stopping plans will change (from what I've heard).

Pretty bad song
K, on topic:
I downshift as I'm stopping; into 1st gear as I stop and then into neutral if its safe so I can give my hands and arms a rest
