Thanks for all the well wishes and advise folks. Now 1 more question. Cover or no cover. I've got an all weather cover I was thinking about putting on the bike after a good wash and wax, but was wondering if it would trap in moisture.
I'm only going out for 6 months, guy at the base med centre advised me to pop down the local "home depot" and look for some moisture adsobers (about the size of a an old video cassette with a peel off lid). You put them under the bike with the cover on and it draws any moisture down out of the cover.
Best of luck over there, I'm deploying early Jan but mine will be like a holiday camp compared to most, major base in a friendly Gulf state.
