Default Insurance rates

Im 23 and looking to purchase my first bike, thinking about an '04 883.How much should I expect to spend yearly for 50/100 coverage? I called Geico, I have my truck insurance through them, and they quoted $1100. Prior to getting the quote, I was expecting $300. Were my expectations too low, or is Geico try to take advantage if me?

If it turns out to be $1000, I doubt I can afford getting a bike right now.

The only real way to know is to call and ask. if you had a vin # of a bike you wanted to buy that would help even more. I have State Farm and they have the best prices on bike insurance.

Rates are determined by different factors so just because one person pays less does not mean you will pay less as well. You need to seek advise from people with a similar bike and that live in your area. Another thing is your age. At 23 you will pay higher premiums.

Another thing to consider is your driving record, drive like a d*k pay through the nose. Call several companies, you'll be surprised by the varying prices.

Right now the biggest discount, at least in Michigan, is credit score. Shop around, Geico isn't the only co. Geico's rates are high here. I'm with Progressive.

50/100 coverage from brosclub.com = $2114

These insurance rates are putting a real damper on my search for a bike. I'm going to make some calls tomorrow to other companies and see what I can find.

I doubt you'll find anything in the 300 range. Its your age, and its a Harley, statistically your a risk. Sorry thats just how it is. Its not fair but insurance companies are in business to make money.

Your rates will likely go down when you turn 25 years of age.

Sounds about right for someone 23yrs old. I pay 660 a year and I am 42. Usually after you turn 25 your rates will begin to drop some.
