From San Diego to Seattle...?
I'm scheduled to report to a new command in Whidbey Island, Washington, in April of 2011. I've been a San Diego resident and rider for the last three years and have enjoyed quite possibly the best roads and weather here than any other location in which I've been stationed.
Can anyone provide any insight into riding conditions on a yearly basis? My command sponsor sent me a picture from the command and its literally covered in six inches of snow. I had to ask him, "what's snow?"
How many months a year can a guy reasonably expect to ride up there? Thanks!

We usually have good weather starting July 5th - sometime in October. Times on either side of that are iffy at best. Some cold weather gear will be in order. On the other hand there is nothing like the San Juan's in August.

Two words......................WET AND WETTER! LOL
Invest in a rainsuit, it doesn't snow all that much unless you head to the mountains. Lots of roads to ride, there's just not as much sun as down south.

I agree, North San Diego County has some of the best roads in the world. I know you're going to miss the riding and weather. I try to avoid the rain, but a little rain here and there is OK. I guess if I moved up north I'd have to get used to getting wet. Good Luck.

have good riding weather at any moment..

this area... you will enjoy your stay here.
